Mass media play a crucial role in the lives of modern teenagers. Television, radio, newspapers, and especially digital platforms provide young people with information, entertainment, and inspiration. However, the influence of media is controversial. On the one hand, it helps teenagers stay aware of global events, develop critical thinking, and form their own opinions. On the other hand, exposure to violent films, misleading advertisements, and unrealistic stereotypes may cause psychological stress. According to surveys conducted in 2021, over 80 percent of teenagers in Russia spend at least three hours a day online. Social networks shape their communication styles and even their self-image. Educators warn that without proper media literacy, young people may struggle to distinguish reliable sources from fake news. Although media can be harmful, responsible use makes it a powerful educational resource for society.
