Environmental disasters have always threatened human civilization. Floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and oil spills cause enormous damage to both people and nature. For example, the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1986 demonstrated the devastating consequences of human mistakes in technology. Thousands of people were relocated, and the surrounding land remains contaminated.
Global warming also increases the frequency of natural disasters. Hurricanes, forest fires, and droughts now appear in regions where they were once rare. According to scientists, the number of climate-related catastrophes has doubled since the 1970s.
International organizations, such as the United Nations, are working to reduce these risks through cooperation and sustainable development. Although the challenges are great, every person can contribute. Ignoring ecological problems would be truly ridiculous for our generation.
