Business etiquette is a system of rules that regulates professional communication. It includes polite greetings, punctuality, proper dress code, and respectful language. These elements may seem simple, but they influence the success of negotiations and partnerships. For instance, arriving late to a meeting can be interpreted as a sign of irresponsibility.
International business etiquette also reflects cultural differences. In Japan, exchanging business cards with two hands is considered a symbol of respect. In Germany, meetings are usually very formal and direct. In contrast, in some Latin American countries, personal relationships and informal conversations play a crucial role.
Modern companies often organize special seminars to teach employees cross-cultural communication. Throughout the modern world, mastering etiquette prevents ridiculous mistakes and opens unique career opportunities.
